Here at Ken’s Automotive & Transmissions, we care about our community. That’s why we are proud to participate in Brakes for Breasts once again this year. This will be our 5th year participating in the fundraiser, and we hope our efforts will continue to support the cause. Let’s take a look at Brakes for Breasts and what it’s all about!
What is Brakes for Breasts?
Brakes for Breasts is a nationwide, grass roots effort to raise money for The Cleveland Clinic’s Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 40,610 women and 460 men were expected to die from breast cancer in 2017. Dr. Tuohy and his team at the Cleveland Clinic have been working on a vaccine for breast cancer and it has been successfully lab tested.
It’s time to take that vaccine to Phase 1 trials, but they need your help!
How to Participate in Brakes for Breasts
Throughout the month of October, Ken’s Automotive & Transmissions will be giving away free brake pads and shoes to customers with 10% of all brake service proceeds going to Brakes for Breasts. All you have to do is pay for labor and any other necessary parts and fees.
There is truly no better time to get your brakes worked on!
Previous Years Have Been Amazing!
In its first year, Brakes for Breasts included only 5 independent auto repair shops and raised $10,000. Last year’s event included 114 independent auto repair shops who worked together to raise over $114,000! Every year we hope this cause will continue to grow and garner attention for the Cleveland Clinic to put the brakes on breast cancer.
We’re an Active Member of the Community
Here at Ken’s Automotive & Transmissions, we strive to support the community we’re a part of. Along with Brakes for Breasts, we have also participated with Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots Frederick, The Patty Pollatos Fund, Inc., the Down Rider Fund, and many other amazing charitable, local organizations.
